ST07, Day 1: Thursday, July 19
Tuesday, July 31st, 2007After leaving John Wayne at about 08:00 PDT, we did a re-fuel/stretch-legs stop in Prescott, then continued to Santa Fe, where we overnighted. The ride to Prescott was smooth in the early morning air. The leg to Santa Fe was a different story - bumps and altitude excursions were nearly continuous the last hour or so and it was more than a little uncomfortable. Just prior to leaving Prescott my navAero flat panel display [see previous entry] went dark. I had already started the engines and decided not to stop and spend the time diagnosing the problem. I found out later I had somehow unplugged the nCharge battery, which drives the display, from ship’s power and after the flight to Prescott it simply was out of juice. Now I check that prior to each flight.
On arrival in Santa Fe, following Scott Rehorn’s recommendation, Ellen, Jake and I had a great dinner at The Shed, just off the Plaza. The Green Chile Stew was unbelievably good!
